Miriam Beatrice Coddington, 88, of Horseshoe Bend died Aug. 31, 2004, in the Northeast Arkansas Life Care Center in Horseshoe Bend.
Born in Findlay, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lewis Merritt and Hazel Edith Oberholtzer Jackson. She worked as a secretary for Marathon Oil Company in Robinson, Ill., before retiring to Horseshoe Bend. She was a member of Horseshoe Bend PEO Sisterhood and Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Arthur Coddington of Horseshoe Bend; a daughter, Cynthia McRill of Sidney, Ohio; stepdaughters -- Mary Kay Eklund of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Susan Jane (Carl) Arterburn of Aurora, Ill.; a brother, Keith Jackson of Finley, Ohio; a sister, Phyllis Sturges of Blue Springs, Mo.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Douglas Eugene Firestone.
A memorial service was Sept. 3 at Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Ashcraft officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Robinson, Ill.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church.
