Morris E. Carpenter, formerly of Cherokee Village, died March 24, 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anne Marie Hatton Carpenter; one daughter, Patricia Kay and Howard Backman; four sons -- Morris J. and Mary Carpenter, David and Michelle Carpenter, Jeffrey and Nancy Carpenter, and John and Bonnie Carpenter; and other relatives and friends.
Carpenter was a longtime active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cherokee Village. A true gentleman, he schooled his children with good manners and taught them to respect others. As a research chemist of Armour Foods, he spent his career developing convenience foods that we find in our grocery shelves today. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Cherokee Village Men's Golf Association.
A memorial mass was held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Florissant, Mo., April 12. Arrangements are under the direction of Stygar Florissant Chapel in Florissant.
