Mary G. Kellam, 87, of Cherokee Village died March 24, 2007, at her home. She was born May 19, 1919, in Moulton, Iowa, the daughter of the late Ellis Darnell and Neola (Morrow) Darnell.
She worked many years in Iowa as a cost accountant before retiring and moving to Cherokee Village 24 years ago from Des Moines, Iowa. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her family, and talking and corresponding with friends. She was a member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending services. Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Payne of Cherokee Village; one step-daughter, Marcia Brown of Washington; one step-son, Roger Kellam of Washington; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. he was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Branson A. Kellam; and one brother, Lewis Darnell. Memorial services were held March 31 at the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church with Jimmy Anderson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the gift fund at the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church.
