M.H. Fontenot, 69, of Cave City, formerly of California and Louisiana, died Sept. 28, 2006, at his home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1937, in Collinston, La., to Clarence and Blanche Iota (Warton) Fontenot. He was a veteran, retired from the U.S. Navy and civil service. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his fiancee, Barbara R. Purvis of Cave City; one brother, Walter H. Fontenot of Oakridge, La.; two sisters, Merlean Crye of Mer-Rouge, La., and Marggie Hembree of West Monroe, La.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service was held Oct. 2 at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel in Bastrop, La., with James Moffitt officiating. Burial with military honors followed at the Carter Cemetery at Bastrop.
Local arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
