Marvin S. Holland, 87, of Poughkeepsie died March 31, 2003, at Central Arkansas Hospital in Searcy.
Born July 6, 1915, at Ravenden Springs, he was the son of David Andrew and Elizabeth Gardner Holland. He was a farmer, a veteran of World War II and a member of Bettis Town Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Sue Holland of the home; two sons -- Raymond J. Holland of Batesville, and Jewell Clifford Holland of Jacksonville; two daughters -- Joyce Bailey of Evening Shade, and Hazel Bearden of Batesville; three stepdaughters -- Jo Ann Brandon of Evening Shade, Janice Hobbs of DeQueen, and Pam Hendrix of Pine Bluff; a brother, Ernest Holland of Cuba, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Mae Holland; four brothers -- Ralph Holland, Bill Holland, Cleave Holland and Ulysses Holland; a sister, Evie Nelson; and a great-granddaughter.
The funeral was April 3 at Bettis Town Church of Christ with Ralph Wallis officiating. Burial was in Thayer (Mo.) Cemetery located at Thayer.
Pallbearers were Bobby Bailey, Kevin Bailey, Curtis Bailey, Brian Bailey, Rickey Bearden and Rodney Bearden.
Honorary pallbearers were Rob Polston and John Manning.
