Mildred Holowell, 75, of Mount Pleasant died July 23, 2003, at Wood Lawn Nursing Home in Batesville.
Born May 9, 1928, at Lafferty, she was the daughter o Thomas Boyd and Dona Hall Brooks. She was a homemaker and a member of Lafferty Community Church.
Survivors include her mother, Dona Brooks of Sidney; two sons -- Terry Holowell and Waid Holowell, both of Mount Pleasant; a daughter, Glinnis House of Magness; three sisters -- Reba Collins and Myrtle Henry, both of Greensville, Texas, and Vinnie Edwards of Mount Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Jewell Holowell; a son, Michael Holowell; a daughter, Willie Gene Holowell; a sister, Stella Peterson; and a great-grandson, Dillon Miller.
The funeral service was July 25 at Lafferty Community Church near Mount Pleasant with Bruce Qualls officiating. Burial followed in Nail Cemetery near Mount Pleasant with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Cecil House, Kirk Miller, Ronnie Holowell, Eric Holowell, Adam Howard and Nathan Caraway.
