M. Juanita Hastings, 87, of Sandtown died Oct. 21, 2004, at Cave City Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 11, 1917, at Cushman, she was the daughter of Clyde and Bertha Hester Smith Lesley. She was a homemaker and a member of Pool's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at Sandtown.
Survivors include five sons -- Rayburn Hastings of Malvern, Cleburn Hastings, Jimmy Dale Hastings, Billy Darrell Hastings and Charles Hastings, all of Sandtown; two daughters -- Clyda H. Keller of Sandtown, and Dawana Hollomon of Conway; a brother, Thomas Lesley of Michigan City, Ind.; a sister, Mary Daughtery of Westville, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Laman Alvis Hastings; a brother, John Dale Lesley; a sister, Geneva Prier Brown; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
The funeral was Oct. 23 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bobby Shephen, J.W. Roach and Jimmy Richardson officiating. Burial followed in Lee's Chapel Cemetery at Sandtown with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were J.A. Campbell, Jerry Campbell, Bob Campbell, Donald Hastings, Jeral Hastings and Dean Hastings.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Campbell and Winford Sandy.
Memorials may be made to Cave City Nursing Home or to Lee's Chapel Cemetery.
