Myrtie Ola Ramsey, 85, of Jonesboro, La., formerly of Cave City, died Nov. 23, 2005, at Jackson Manor Nursing and Rehab in Jonesboro, La. She was born Feb. 18, 1920, at Evening Shade to Samuel and Leona Arnold Taylor. She was a homemaker and a pastor's wife for 60 years in the Church of God.
Survivors include one son, Floyd L. Ramsey Jr. of Kearney, Mo.; one daughter, Berniece Welch of Jonesboro, La.; one brother, Ben Taylor of Batesville; one sister, Eudean Thorn of Franklin, Tenn.; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Floyd L. Ramsey Sr.; two brothers Carlton Taylor and Wilburt Taylor; two sisters, Zelpha Wolford and Norean George.
The funeral service was held Nov. 26 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Rev. Albert Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Bob Ramsey, Jim Ramsey, Devin Ramsey, Junior Majors, Billy Snow and Leon Snow.
Honorary pallbearers were Junior Taylor and Elois Taylor.
