Marion Padgett, 78, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died July 8, 2007, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark.
Mrs. Padgett was born April 18, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late Frank Gray and Ethel (Turley) Gray. She moved to Cherokee Village 11 years ago from Illinois. She was a member of the Swimming Club and was a Caller. She also loved reading and rug hooking. She attended the Spring River Presbyterian Church in Hardy, Ark.Survivors include: her husband, Sanford Paul Padgett of the home; three sons, William Padgett, Jeffrey Padgett and Brian Padgett all of Illinois; and four daughters, Linda Long, Diane Haywood, Doris Gaddis and Donna Woolsey, all of Illinois; two sisters, Lois Rarick and husband, Bill of Indiana, and Joyce Kingsland and husband, Don of Cherokee Village; many grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by: her parents; one sister, Dorothy Tourtellotte; and two brothers, Warren Gray and Walter Gray.A visitation was scheduled for July 12 at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Ark., with a memorial service following the visitation.Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
