Minnie "Bernice" Rudd, 45, of Cherokee Village, formerly of Bentonville, Ark., died March 18, 2006, in Fulton County Hospital in Salem due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Aug. 21, 1960, in Hayti, Mo., to Tendel and Ellie Junior. She worked for the Wal-Mart home office for seven years. She was of the Church of God faith. She was married in Double Springs, Ala., to Roy D. Rudd on June 16, 1975.
She enjoyed reading science fiction novels, movies, playing word games, putting puzzles together, music and playing computer games. She also loved animals, especially her dog, Shelly. Her most important job and love was being a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Roy D. Rudd of Cherokee Village; one daughter, Charity Rudd of Ash Flat; one son, Michael Rudd of Centerton, Ark.; one brother, Jimmy Junior of Phil Campbell, Ala.; five sisters, Faye McBroom of Natural Bridges, Ala., Hazel Kelley and Connie Dye of Haleyville, Ala., Linda Smith of Rogers, Ark., and Patricia Junior of Cullman, Ala. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Taylor Haines, Joshua Rudd, Preston King, Jessica King and Shiloh King.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and her precious son, James Daniel Rudd, who died Oct. 29, 2003.
The funeral service was held March 23 at Rollins Funeral Chapel in Rogers, with Bro. Cecil Suggs and Sister Shirley Ford officiating. Burial followed in Bentonville Cemetery.
