Michael W. Hoffmann, 76, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Aug. 1, 2007, at his residence.
He was born on Oct. 18, 1930, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Emil Hoffmann Sr. and Catherine (Pfeiffer) Hoffmann.He was married to Margaret "Marge" (Kalkbrenner) Hoffmann. Mike worked over 30-years for Ford Motor Company before retiring. He spent the last years of his life working as a ranger at the Cherokee Village Golf Course. He loved fishing, reading and music. Mike was a member of the Arkansas Golf Association. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.He is survived by: his wife, Margaret Hoffmann of the home; five sons, John and Jane Hoffmann of Phoenix, Ariz., Matthew and Trish Hoffmann of Peoria, Ariz., Mark Hoffmann and Rene Spring of Morgan Hil, Calif., Luke Hoffmann of El Mirage, Ariz., and David and Tracy Webb of Cherokee Village; three daughters, Diane and Herb Grossman of Southhampton, N.J., Mary and Michael Balbiani of Dixon, Calif. and Helen and Tony Sweitzer of Dixon, Calif.; two brothers, Emil and Jeanine Hoffmann Jr. of Lake St. Louis, Mo. and Fred and Theresa Hoffmann of O'Fallon, Mo.; three sisters, Margaret "Sis" and Marv Wilson of St. Charles, Mo., Elizabeth "Betty" and Clyde Faulkenberry of Imperial, Mo., and Helen "Maryanne" Horn of Afton, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Memorial Masses were scheduled for Aug. 6 at the St. Mary of the Victories in St. Louis, Mo., and Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. at the St. Michaels Church in Highland.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cherokee Village Junior Golf Program at P.O.
