Nina Jean Campbell Carter, 64, of Batesville died July 8, 2003, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born July 30, 1938, at Sandtown, she was the daughter of Earnest C. and Belva E. Hastings Campbell. She was a homemaker and a member of Pool's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John M. Carter of the home; two sons -- Tony Carter of Batesville and Danny Carter of Cushman; a daughter, Sarah Moore of Batesville; four brothers -- John A. Campbell, Jerry Campbell, Bob Campbell, all of Sandtown, and Gary Campbell of Mount Pleasant; four sisters -- Freda Thomas, Wanda Roach and Cleva Carter, all of Batesville, and Earnestine Hoover of Southside; five grandchildren -- Leah Carpenter of Russellville, Terence Carter and Jessica Moore, both of Batesville, Heather Fulbright and Rachel Carter, both of Cushman; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Marie Carpenter of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral was July 10 at First Assembly of God Church in Cave City with Bobby Sanders and J.W. Roach officiating. Burial followed in Lee's Chapel Cemetery at Sandtown. Arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Chris Chance, Thomas Carpenter, Jeff Holland, Adam Robbins, Nathan Stephens and Max Mize.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim Sellers, Lee Roy Edgin and Winford Sandy.
