Lillian Ann Nielsen, 90, of Cherokee Village died Dec. 9, 2001, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
Born April 10, 1911, in Grundy County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Joseph Haack and Grace Engelkes Haack. She married Louis C. Nielsen June 1, 1939, in Grundy Center, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1976.
Mrs. Nielsen was a member of the Danish Sisterhood. She moved to Cherokee Village 30 years ago from Dike, Iowa. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village. She was a prayer chain leader, part of the Peace Lutheran Choir, the LWML, a Sunday School teacher and a Bible school teacher. She also was a retired school teacher.
Survivors include a son and his wife -- Andrew L. and Kathryn Nielsen of Greeley, Colo.; a daughter and her husband -- Jean L. and Ronald Meyer of Glendale, Ariz; a brother, Hilbert Haack of Foreston, Ill.; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service was Dec. 15, 2001 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village with the Rev. Brian Pummill officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
