Oran Dwight Estes, of Holts Summit, Mo., son of the late Guy Estes and Aubrey Godwin Estes, was born July 29, 1924, in Agnos, Ark. He died April 9, 2007, at his home, at the age of 82.
He was united in marriage to Juanita McCullough on July 18, 1942, in Thayer, Mo. To this union, six children were born. He was self-employed in housing construction and as a roofer for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include: his wife, Juanita of the family home; children, Earl (Butch) Estes and wife Marcella of Bolivar, Mo., Judy Ann Martin and husband Rickie of Holts Sumit, Mo., Jeannine Estes, Jackie Settles and Janice Sue Richards all of Springfield, Mo., and Charles Dwight Estes and wife, Sheila of Bois Darc, Mo.; grandchildren, Lynn Gulick, Leann Milburn, Johnny Patterson, Janelle Green, Connie Ballinger, Linda Ward, Jon and Jim Seist and Amanada Jones, Christopher Richards, Jessie Dawson, and Chrissy, Tyler and Tiffany Estes; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Boyd Estes of Wirth, Tommy Estes, May Linderman, Betty Jean Burlingham, Trevar Montgomery, and Faye Waldorf, all of Michigan. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jackie Ballinger; and his father and mother. Graveside services were held April 12 at Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat with arrangements by Cox Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
