Pearl Elizabeth Austin, 90, died May 21, 2004, at her home in Paducah, Ky.
The Norris City, Ill., native was a farm wife and homemaker who retired to Cherokee Village in 1978, where she resided for 20 years prior to moving to Paducah. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, May Chapter No. 783 of Illinois and was named a worthy matron. She was also a former member of the Federated Women's Club, the Needle Craft Club and the Garden Club, as well as a member of First Presbyterian Church in Norris City.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Leland Austin; two daughters -- Elizabeth Ann Kindle of Park Forest, Ill., and Anita Sue Morehead of Paducah; four brothers -- William Allen of Broughton, Ill., Donald Allen of Raleigh, Ill., Alfred "Curly" Allen of Springfield, Ill., and Eugene Allen of McLeansboro, Ill.; four grandchildren -- Cindy Conger and Julie Driscoll, both of Chicago, Dan Morehead of Paducah, and Melissa Morehead of New York City; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers -- Stanley Allen, Robert Allen and John Allen; and her parents -- James Riley and Effie Lucinda Neal Allen.

The One Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
The funeral was May 23 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. The Rev. Scott Webb officiated the service. Burial was in Lick Creek Cemetery.
