Daphney Irene Powell, 71, of Mammoth Spring died Dec. 14, 2001, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Jan. 23, 1930, in Lepanto, she was the daughter of John S. and Beade Irene Henson Faulkner. She married Coy Douglas Powell Jan. 24, 1948, in Trumann.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters -- Betty Carol Dawson of Salem, and Barbara Irene Byers of Mammoth Spring; four sons -- Coy Don Powell of Hardy, Lonnie Sylvester Powell and Ronnie Martin Powell, both of Bauxite, and Billy Glen Powell of Waveland, Miss.; four sisters -- Mary Ann Dugard of Hardy, Lillie Wright of Eldridge, Ala., Naomi Lee Williams of Forrest City, and Juanita Emrich of Corbin, Ky.; five brothers -- Eddie Odean Faulkner of Cherokee Village, John Ray Faulkner of Carlisle, Carl Al Faulkner of Hardy, Clayburn Faulkner of Ward, and James David Faulkner of Round Rock, Texas; 27 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, William Charles Faulkner.
The funeral was Dec. 17 at Union Hill Community Church in Mammoth Spring with Carl Faulkner officiating. Burial followed in Field Creek Cemetery at Mammoth Spring.
