Phyllis Elizabeth Thompson, 71, of Cherokee Village died Oct. 8, 2002, at Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehab Center in Ash Flat.
Born April 10, 1931, she was the daughter of Alpha Simmer Higgs and Phillip Higgs in Hornel, N.Y.
She was a homemaker and a former computer tech. She was a devoted member of Cherokee Village United Methodist Church and choir, and the Kiwanis Club of Cherokee Village.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin "Tom" Thomp-son of Cherokee Village; three sons -- F.V. Lin Thompson of Ripley, Tenn., Stephen D. Thompson of Cherokee Village, and William P. Thompson of St. Louis; a daughter, Linda Beer of Monticello; a brother, William A. Higgs of Lancaster, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Oct. 12 at Cherokee Village United Methodist Church in Cherokee Village.
