Robert (Bob) Andrew Anderson, 69, of Horseshoe Bend passed away Sept. 19 at North Arkansas Life Care Center in Horseshoe Bend.

He was born in Chula Vista, Calif., the son of Otto Andrew and Thelma Riding Anderson. He served in the United States Air Force REGAF as an airman first class during the Korean Conflict. He taught for 12 years at Polymar College in San Diego, Calif., and worked as a general building contractor in California before moving to Horseshoe Bend. He worked here as a carpenter and was an accomplished musician and loved playing country western, gospel and bluegrass music. He also played several musical instruments that included guitar, mandolin, banjo, harmonica and bass fiddle. He was ordained as a deacon in the Ramona, Calif., Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Johnson Anderson of Horseshoe Bend; sons David Andrew Anderson of Roy, Wash., and Daniel Robert Anderson of Paradise, Calif.; a daughter, Debra Jane Anderson of Elm, Wash.; a sister, Mary Baker of Island Park, Idaho; half brothers Joe Benoit, of Kamas, Utah, and Ed Benoit of California; half sisters Bonjie Immos of Delevan, Calif., and Dorothy Yates; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller of San Diego, Emily Miller and Lainig Miller of Yelm, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service was held Sept. 22 at First Baptist Church in Horseshoe Bend with the Rev. Robert Duhon officiating. Burial followed in Maxville Cemetery north of Cave City with military honors. Arrangements were under the direction of Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.
