Former Cherokee Villager Roy Barton, 74, died April 21, 2005, in Huntsville, Texas.
While living in Cherokee Village he was active in American Legion, Cherokee Village Horseshoe Pitchers, Veterans Military Museum, VFW and Chubby Chigger music.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Joanne; a son, Russell (Deborah) Barton of Papillion, Neb.; four daughters -- Deola Morrical of Kalispell, Mont., Cecilia (Lee) Murrah of Bloomfield, Mich.; Roxanne Cox of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Wilburta Barton of Bandera, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Barton-Smith of Newport, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Ruth Kathman of Cherokee Village.
He was preceded in death by two children -- Roy Jr. and baby Alyce.
Barton's ashes will be scattered on Lake Livingston where he lived. Mrs. Barton's address is P.O. Box 373, Riverside, Texas 77367.
