Roberta Dean Tugwell, 76, of Cave Creek died July 30, 2004, at a Batesville Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born June 16, 1928, near Batesville, she was the daughter of Robert Andrew and Mary Elizabeth Smith Tugwell. She was a farmer and a leather craftsman. She raised horses and German Shepherd dogs. She was an avid reader and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include a sister, Berniece Cavenar of Sandtown, and a niece, Valeria Smithee of Caseyville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bonnie Stroud; and a nephew, Jerrell Stroud.
The funeral service was Aug. 2 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with the Rev. Larry Morris and J.W. Roach officiating. Burial followed in Lee's Chapel Cemetery in Sandtown.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Manuel, Randy Manuel, Hughes Tugwell, Charles Howard, Lenny Rush and Jimmy Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Carter and Joe Walls.
