Ruby Lee Mathis, 91, died Jan. 18, 2003, in Cherokee Village.
Born Dec. 1, 1911, in Salem, she was the daughter of Arthur Allison Henry and Sarah Josephine Haney Henry. She married Clarence Mathis, who preceded her in death. She was a seamstress for Puritan Fashions in Thayer for many years. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed making quilts. She is a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo Fulgham of Ash Flat; three grandchildren -- Greg Fulgham and his wife, Jamie, of Pea Ridge, Alan Fulgham and his wife, Karen, of Ash Flat, and Joey Fulgham and his wife, Karin, of Conway; five great-grandchildren -- Ardrienne, Kristen, Taylor, Brennan and Landon; and two nephews, Norman Cozort and his wife, Gayle, of Thayer, and John Simers and his wife, Linda, of Salem.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Wesley Henry; and two sisters -- Ollie Cozort and Ella Faye Simers.
The funeral was Jan. 21 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with Keith Gregson, Bob Simers and Dennis Rogers officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at Salem.
Arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Alan Fulgham, Michael King, Gary King, Joey Fulgham, Ryan King, Doug Cozort, and Nick Allen.
