Raymond Otto Keen, 87, of Horseshoe Bend, died Sept. 17 at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem. He was born in Chicago, Ill., the son of Walter and Martha Morrie Keen.
He served in the Navy during World War II as seaman first class. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology to work as a hydraulic engineer. He also graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy in 1990 and was a retired police sergeant with Horseshoe Bend Police Department. He was a member of the American Law Enforcement Association, American Legion Post 344, Horseshoe Bend Bowling Club, Fishing Club, AARP Club and the Illinois Club. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include his wife, Heleene Napravnik Keen of Horseshoe Bend; daughters, Raulene Kuebelbeck of Elburn, Ill., and Diaine Link of Wylie, Texas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
The funeral service was held Sept. 23 at Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Tews officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
