Rita Lynn Perkey, 40, of Maumelle died July 4, 2003, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock after a short but vigilant battle with cancer.
Born Sept. 27, 1962, at Batesville, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Wanda Phillips Perkey. She was a 1980 graduate of Cave City High School and a graduate of Arkansas State University, a registered nurse for the Little Rock Family Planning, a member of Arkansas Nurses Association and was a member of First United Methodist Church at Cave City.
Survivors include her parents, C.W. and Wanda Perkey of Cave City; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Cindy Perkey; two nephews -- Shaun McHalffey and Alex Perkey, both of Batesville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral was July 8 at First United Methodist Church at Cave City, with the Rev. Paul Strang and the Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Cave City Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Reid Womack, Eddie Bradley, Randy Smith, Dale Holsted, Lee Candler, Sanford Candler, Bertie Rogers, Ed Kegley and Don Rosier.
