Ruth Rose Richardson, 79, died March 4, 2003, in Jonesboro.
Born on June 4, 1923, in Lunenburg, she was the daughter of Joe H. and Emma Helm Rose. She married Dordon Richardson Sept. 24, 1942, in Melbourne.
She spent her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of Melbourne Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Royce Slade of Sidney; two sisters -- Joye McNew of Caruthers, Calif., and Gussie Williams of Alief, Texas; a brother, Joe Rose Jr. of Bosie, Idaho; two grandchildren -- Dianne Drinkard and Brad Slade; four great-grandchildren -- Kasey and Katie Caraway and Megan and Matthew Rush; three step-great-grandchildren -- Kaitlynn and Kendall Drinkard and Katie Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters -- Johnnie Bassham, Emma Sue Shallenberger and Inez Hall; and a grandson, Michael Cooper.
A graveside service was March 7 at Combs Cemetery with Lee Cording officiating. Burial followed at Combs Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Brad Slade, Jody Smith, Kasey Caraway, Matthew Rush, Tony Drinkard and Antone Drinkard.
