Ruth Thompson Spray, 83, of Horseshoe Bend died July 5, 2002, at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock.
Born Nov. 8, 1918, in Hardy, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Shane Spicer. She was a graduate of Hardy High School, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Arkansas Real Estate Associa-tion, Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church and the Mary Circle of the church. She sold real estate for many years and was instrumental in the development of Horseshoe Bend. She won many awards for her ability as a salesperson.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Anne Adkins and her husband, Vernon, of Montgomery, Ala.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Thompson of Little Rock; a brother, Jim Spicer of Murpheys, Calif.; three sisters -- Geneva Yow, Marie Griffin of Horseshoe Bend, and Pat Zemaitis of San Jose, Calif.; seven grandchildren -- Matthew Bolar, Emma Adkins, Karen Keathley, Kevin Keathley, Leslie Ziegler, Aubrey Ziegler and Lauren Sinha; and five great-grandchildren -- Christopher, Emily, Ellen, Meghan and Luke.
She wa preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Spray; a son, Dr. A.J. Thompson; a sister; and two brothers.
The funeral was July 8 at Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church with the Rev. Everett Isom officiating. Burial followed in the Bronaugh Cemetery north of Hardy.
Pallbearers were Vernon Adkins, Matthew Thompson Bolar, A.C. Griffin, Rick Sicls, Marvin Thompson and Charles Ken Daily.
Arrangements were under the direction of Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel of Horseshoe Bend.
