Ruth Swan, 86, of Horseshoe Bend died April 10, 2003, in Mountain Home.
Born June 12, 1916, in Layton, Utah, she was the daughter of Wallace and Ada Williams Gailey. She had been a resident of Horseshoe Bend since 1970. She spent her life as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Mormon Church. Ruth was united in marriage to Harold Elwin Swan.
Survivors include a daughter, Julie Robertson of Union; three sons -- David Steed of Dallas, Texas, Walter Swan of Glen Burnie, Md., and Joseph Swan of Arlington, Texas; a sister, Bea Hanson of Roy, Utah; a brother, Bill Gailey of Ogden, Utah; three grandchildren -- Jenny, Temble and Ambora; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, John Steed; three sisters -- Helen Layton, Ann Fowler and Nelda Corbridge; and a brother, Joe Gailey.
A memorial service will be held in Mount Pleasant, Texas, at a later date.
