Roxie Tennessee Houston died June 19, 2006, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home at the age of 82.
She was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Sharp County the daughter of the late George Baldridge and Orphie (Jones) Baldridge.
She was united in marriage Aug. 17, 1947, in Sharp County to Claudie Houston, who preceded her in death Feb. 14, 2006.
She was a member of Banks Baptist Church.
Survivors include seven children, Carolyn Sanders of Mountain Home, Joe Houston and wife Renae of Steele, Mo., Vernon Houston of Harrisburg, Diane Coffee and husband Russ of Abilene, Texas, David Houston of Lompoc, Calif., Anthony Houston of Lompoc, Calif., and Sondra Artos and husband David of Mountain home; eight grandchildren, Maria, Brian, Michael, James, Nicholas, Jennifer, Regan and Amber; five stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Bo; four brothers, Elvern Baldridge, Lenard Baldridge and Bill Baldridge of Mammoth Spring and Omar "Pap" Baldridge of Wirth, ; one sister, Nola Angotti of Wirth; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, James Edward Houston; one daughter, Sylvia Maxine Houston; one brother, Jack Baldrige; and one sister, Rhoda Byers.
The funeral services were held June 23 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with burial following in the Perry Cemetery in Sharp County, with Bro. Andy Latham and Floyd Rikard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Pallbearers were David Baldridge, Hubert Baldridge, Jimmy Baldridge, Bruce Baldridge, Phillip Baldridge and Glenn Angotti.
Honorary pallbearers were Brian Sanders, Michael Coffey, James Houston and Nicholas Houston.
