Ronald Vernon Floyal Curtis, 23, of Elk City, Okla., died March 29, 2008. He was born March 24, 1985, at Batesville, Ark., the son of Ronald Curtis and Linda Buie.
He graduated from Weatherford High School in Weatherford Okla. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps and Reserves and served tours of duty in Africa and had just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. At the time of his death he was in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. Survivors include: his father, Ronald Curtis, step-mother, Kathy Curtis of Cave City; his mother, Linda Buie of Elk City, Okla.; a daughter, Addison Lynn Curtis of Weatherford, Okla.; three half-sisters, April Lou Phares of Elk City, Christy Don Blackmore of Batesville and Cassie Joe Curtis of Cave City; one step-sister, Amanda Lyn Kelley of Cave City, his grandparents, Zelma Lou Ring of Elk City and Johnny and Louise Curtis of Cave City; and his step-grandparents, Roy and Edith Williams of Cave City. He was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Virgil Vernon Buie from Batesville; and a step-brother, Glendale Earl Phares of Elk City, Okla. Funeral services were held April 2 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Elk City. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.
