Ralph William Ball Sr., 68, of the Mammoth Spring area died Jan. 1, 2004, in Cherokee Village.
Born May 22, 1935, in Versailles, Mo., he was the son of Russell E. Ball and Margaret Gayhart Ball.
He married Elizabeth Sue Swartz Aug. 20, 1955, in Peru, Ind.
He was a farmer and salesman for Ram Parts and R&R Industries for many years. He was a member of Mammoth Spring Presbyterian Church and attended Spring River Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sue, of the home near Mammoth Spring; four children -- Cynthia Sue Simers of Mammoth Spring, Ralph Ball Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Cherokee Village, Peggy Allene Hickman and husband, J.L., of Mountain Home, and Janet Kay Young and husband, Marty, of Mammoth Spring; nine grandchildren -- Earle Simers, Timothy Simers, Amanda Ball, R.W. Ball III, Justin Hickman, Nat Hickman, Bridget Young, Brittany Young and Chris Young; and a brother, Frank Ball, of Lebanon, Mo.
A graveside service was Jan. 5 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Mammoth Spring with the Rev. Stan Jagow officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers were his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Young and Dwight Holmes.
