Robert Corvan Welte, 73, of Cherokee Village died Sept. 15, 2003, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System in Cherokee Village.
He was born Dec. 4, 1929, in White County, Ind., to Arthur Welte and Eva Bare Welte.
He was a school teacher, belonged to St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Elks Club, where he was past exalted ruler and held many other offices.
Survivors include two sons -- Dennis Welte of Hardy, and Ronald Welte of Frisco, Texas; a daughter, Gina Yannone of Belvidere, Ill.; a brother, Larry Welte of Baxter, Ind.; and four sisters -- Audrey Ladd of Monticello, Ind., Carolyn Lawson of Indiana, Norma Jean Sickler of Idaville, Ind., and Lois Wright of Winter Garden, Fla.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The funeral mass was Sept. 18 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with burial in St Michael's Columbarium, Cherokee Village.
Arrangements were under the direction of Heath Oak Hill Chapel.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the Elks National Foundation.
