Robert W. McKee, 78, of Williford died Oct. 7, 2004, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born Aug. 31, 1926, in Georgia, he was the son of Ward and Agnes McKee.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II and Korea. He was a pallbearer for the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery for the Korean War and was a highly decorated veteran.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church of Cherokee Village.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Fletcher McKee of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jerry Renniker of North Carolina; three sons and a daughter-in-law -- Robert Michael McKee of Dekalb, Texas, Randy Wyatt of Marion, Ark., and Larry and Cyndi Wyatt of Thayer, Mo.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven J. McKee; his parents; two brothers; and a sister.
The funeral was Oct. 9 at Higginbotham Funeral Chapel in Hardy. Burial followed in Williford Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Higginbotham Funeral Service Inc. of Hardy.
Pallbearers were Jeramee Cooper, Bobby Flippo, Shade Gibson, Roland Baldridge, Jerry Renniker and Scott Bolmer.
