Eddie Lee Ennis, 78, of Williford died May 17, 2002, at his home.
Born March 8, 1924, in Calument, he was the son of Jessie Denton Ennis and Gertrude Dodson Ennis.
He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department and a member of the Ward Street Church of Christ in Hardy.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Chamness Ennis of Williford; a son, Terry Lee Ennis of St. Charles, Mo; three daughters -- Virginia White of West Helena, Laverne James of Williford, and Margaret Hughey of Little Rock; a brother, Donnie Eugene Ennis of Mammoth Spring; two sisters -- Virgie Isabel of Cabot, and Minnie Lou Snowdon of Elaine; nine grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Corbitt; a brother, James Dee Ennis; two grandchildren; and his parents.
The funeral was May 21 at Ward Street Church of Christ in Hardy with Tom O'Neal and Bob Hewett officiating. Burial followed in Baker Cemetery in Williford.
Pallbearers were Danny Slayton, Joe Yates, Lee Roy Davis, Jimmy Harrison, Paul Garner and Daryle Aikman.
Honorary pallbearer was Eddie Black.
Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City.
