Guy Shreve, 93, of Cave City died March 6, 2003, at Cave City Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 7, 1909, at Walnut Grove, he was the son of Varce and Janie James Shreve. He was a retired farmer and a retired service station owner, a United States Army veteran of World War II and of the Methodist faith.
Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law -- Darrell and Annettea Shreve of Cave City, Harold and Cora Shreve of Bryant, and Ebby and Clydella Shreve of Cave City; a daughter, Mary Jane Babb of Cave City; a brother, Aldie Shreve of Mel-bourne; a sister, Letha Dunna-way of Orange City, Fla.; eight grandchildren -- Ricky Shreve of Wichita, Kan., Debra Edgin of Batesville, Kenny Ray Allen of Orlando, Fla., Amy Shreve of Bryant, Chris Shreve of Harrison, Eric Shreve of Fayetteville, Jennifer Davis of Cave City, and Mary Shreve of Fort Worth, Texas; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Floy Davis Shreve; a son, Charles Shreve; and a grandson, Harold Wayne Shreve.
The funeral was March 9 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Strang, Dennis Edgin and Laurie Dewitt officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eric Shreve, Rick Shreve, Jeremy Edgin, Jon Edgin, Jason Edgin and Mike Davis.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Allen, Marty Shreve and Chris Shreve.
Arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
