Sarah "Edna" McFann, 86, was born on Feb. 15, 1921, the daughter of the late Virgil C. Courington and Stella Tucker Courington in Walker County, Ala., and departed this life Feb. 6, 2008, in West Plains, Mo.
She was united in marriage Oct. 19, 1945, in Lucedale, Miss., to Noble McFann, who preceded her in death Nov. 29, 2002.She was a beautician working for a total of 20 years. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Dellhalf Church of Christ.She is survived by: one son, Jerry McFann and wife, Peggy of Myrtle, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Shelly Martin and husband, John of Leon, Kan., Noble RaLeon McFann of Douglas, Kan., Jerry Stone McFann and wife, Rachel of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Jerri Elder and husband, Aaron of Naylor, Mo., Rochelle Childress and husband, Paul of Benton, Ark., Nolie Smith and fiance, Tommy Kern of Gilbert, Ariz., Phoenix Klemann and husband, Matt of Newport News, Va., Larry Andrews and wife, Melanie of Cabot, Ark., and Jerrica McFann of Myrtle; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, George Donald Courington of Columbus, Miss., and V.C. Courington of Huey Town, Miss.; one sister, Bessie Worthington of Oakman, Ala., and several nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by: her husband, Noble McFann; one brother, Leon Courington; and two sisters, Ruby Harris and Jewell Amerson.Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at the Dellhalf Church of Christ near Myrtle, Mo., with Harvey Seagraves officiating. Burial followed in the Jeff Cemetery with arrangements by Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, Mo.
