Ted Lamar Johnson, 66, of of Cherokee Village died May 5, 2004, at his home.
Born June 28, 1937, in Wrightsville, Ga., he was the son of Annie D. McCray Johnson and Roger G. Johnson. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was also a retired police officer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hardy.
Survivors include his wife, Mirene Johnson of Cherokee Village; three grandchildren -- Tommy Hughes, Shelly Hughes and Erik Hughes; a great-grandchild, Chase T. Hughes; two brothers -- Conley H. Johnson of Fayettevile, Ga., and Fred G. Johnson of Montgomery, Ala.; and a sister, Thurla Oxford of Macon, Ga.
He was preceded in death by two sons -- Jerry Lee Hughes and Lonnie Lloyd Hughes, three brothers, three sisters and his parents.
The funeral was June 5 at Heath Funeral Home, Oak Hill Chapel with Mike Johnson officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Hardy.
Memorials are preferred to Eastern Ozarks Regional Hospice.
