Theda Mae Cornish, 66, of Batesville died Nov. 28, 2004, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born July 2, 1938, at Batesville, she was the daughter of William Everett and Effie Annamary Haigwood Barnett. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Tabernacle Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, J.C. Cornish of the home; four sons -- Jeff Cornish of Sidney, Kevin Cornish of Cave City, and Darin Cornish and Chris Cornish, both of Batesville; a daughter, Kathy Briley of Batesville; five brothers -- Coy Barnett, Gene Barnett and Jerry Barnett, all of Batesville, Roy Barnett of Harrisburg, and Charles Barnett of Mount Pleasant; a sister, Stella Ballard of Manilla; two grandsons -- Jason Briley of Sidney, and Shannon Briley of Batesville; a granddaughter, Tabithia Cornish of Batesville; a great-grandson, Jacob Briley of Sidney; five step grandsons -- Vaughn Case, Tommy Staggs, Christopher Staggs and Todd Smith, all of Batesville, and Bo Hallmark of Sidney; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Barnett.
The funeral was Dec. 1 at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Gaylon England and Charles Barnett officiating. Burial followed in Lee's Chapel Cemetery located at Sandtown with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers were Jason Briley, Shannon Briley, David Miller, Chuck Thompson, Vaughan Case and Lawrence Mullens.
