Theodore (Ted) Preston Rathman, 91, of Cherokee Village died Aug. 10, 2005, at the North Arkansas Life Care Center in Horseshoe Bend.
He was born on Dec. 22, 1913, in Hudson, Ill., the son of Bert and Pearl Rathman.
He retired from R.G. LeTourneau Earth Moving Machinery Company in 1978.
He was a long time member of the First Church of God, Thayer, Mo., and a lifetime member of the Gideons Society.
Rathman and his wife Hazel moved to Cherokee Village from Peoria, Ill., over 27 years ago.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Hazel; a brother, Lloyd Rathman of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Lucille Brown, of Anderson, Ind.; two daughters, Louise Lusby and Nellie Kuehne and their husbands; six grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Pauline Reining.
The funeral service was Aug. 16 at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer with his grandson, Kevin Kuehne, presiding.
