Thurman T. Casey, 70, of Salem died June 1, 2004, at his home in Salem.
Born Feb. 3, 1934, in Ash Flat, he was the son of Henry D. and Mary E. Nicholson Casey.
He married Barbara Lewallen Dec. 24, 1956, at Ash Flat. To this union three children were born.
He served in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors in 1989 after 38 years of employment. In 1992 he and his wife moved back to Arkansas. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the UAW Local in Chicago and Salem Church of Christ.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid reader, enjoying all kinds of books. He loved to talk and visit with his many friends and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of Salem; a daughter, Cloeta Jerothe and husband, Russell, of Florida; two sons -- Steve Casey and wife, Rose, of New Lenox, Ill., and Allen Casey and wife, Dawn, of Plainfield, Ill.; brothers -- Sam Casey of Salem, and Floyd Casey of Mammoth Spring; a sister, Judy Humphrey of Mammoth Spring; grandchildren -- Matthew, Marissa, Kyle, Joshua and Nickey Casey, Ryan, Devon and Garrett Jerothe; and his best friend, Buddy. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jordan Casey; and his parents.
The funeral was June 4 at Salem Church of Christ. Burial was in the Wiles Cemetery at Ash Flat, with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
