Thomas W. "Tooter" Williams, 85, of Ash Flat died Aug. 4, 2006 in Melbourne. He was born June 28, 1921, in Franklin, Ark., son of the late Nancy T. (Beaver) Williams and Richard Williams. He was a retired ginner and maintenance supervisor at Gilstar Marylee Corp. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hardy and was a 45-year member of Joiner Baptist Church where he was a deacon; a member of Dyess Lodge 734 in Dyess for 58 years; and a member of the Scottish Rite: William Nash Temple in West Memphis.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda (Mann) Williams of Ash Flat; three sons, Thomas E. Williams of Cave City, J.R. "Dickie" Williams of Ashdown and Ken "Cotton" Williams of Ash Flat; two daughters, Mary Frances McAnally of West Memphis and Carolyn McFatridge of Cherokee Village; a brother, Roger Williams of Huntington, Tenn.; sisters, Ruby Neal Rooker of Plantersville, Miss., and Geraldene Standford of Bartlett, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter, two grandsons; and five sisters.

The funeral services were held Aug. 7 at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Melbourne with Cain Wheeler officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Violet Hill with arrangements under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers were Joe McLemore, Mike Stevens, Bruce Davis, Mike Taylor, Jason Barnett and Norman McAnlly.

Honorary pallbearers were Dick Wilson, Kenneth Shannon, Dickie Speck and Billy Barnett.
