Vida C. Smith, 92, of Sidney, died May 1, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born Feb. 5, 1915, at Guion, the son of John Henry and Hattie (Davis) Stubbs.
She was a homemaker. She had been a member of Sidney Baptist Church longer than anyone living. Survivors include: two sons, Jim Smith of Sidney and Danny Smithy of Cave City; three daughters, Jo Bradly of Sidney and Pat Milner and Kathy Craig both of Cabot; two sisters, Neva Saha of Bakersfield, Calif., and Beulah Miller of Melbourne; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Medley Smith; two brothers, Doyle Stubbs and Dalton Stubbs; and three sisters, Eva Banning, Jewell Sheffield and Eithell Coble. Funeral services were held May 5 at the Sidney Baptist Church located at Sidney with Bro. Alvin Wiles officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Carmel Cemetery located at Sidney with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Pallbearers were Lance Smith, Phillip Smith, Tim Bradley, Rick Milner, Darin Troxler and Derek Frewert.
