Virgie Elizabeth (Finney) Matlock, 87, of Cave City, Ark., died Nov. 26, 2007, at the Cave City Nursing Home. She was born May 3, 1920, at Batesville, Ark., to Luther and Ellen (Cummings) Finney.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Matlock Road Church of God in Cave City.Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Vaughn and Mert Matlock; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Marshall Goff all of Cave City; three sisters, Hildia Greshner of St. Louis, Mo., Ethel Tamson of Tehachapi, Calif.; and Irene French of Cave City; a sister-in-law, Geneva Finney of Batesville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces; and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Fate Matlock; two brothers, Ledford Finney and Leonard Finney; and one sister, Erma Melton.Funeral services were held Nov. 28 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Ralph Palmer officiating. Burial followed in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark.Pallbearers were Ryan Roberts, Reid Womack, Tony Goff, Greg Goff, Richard Hawkins II, Bobby Brown and Paul D. Brown.
