Vera Holder Johnson, 83, of Cherokee Village died Nov. 13, 2003, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born March 19, 1920, in Minturn, Ark., she was the daughter of Authur C. and Zella May Alphin Golden.
She lived in Lake Station, Ind., before moving to the Hardy and Cherokee Village area. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church at Highland.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Johnson of Cherokee Village; three sons -- Bob (Tish) and Dwight Holder of Hardy, and Grent Holder of Lake Station; four daughters -- Cindy (Armando) Yanez of Lake Station, Sharon (Charlie) Broad of Milton, Ky., Phyllis (Chuck) Phipps of Jonesboro, and Dodie (Peter) Lawrence of Ames, Ind.; a brother, Art Golden of Carson City, Nev.; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dexter Holder; two sons -- Roger and Gary Holder; a brother and a sister.
The funeral was Nov. 17 in Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel with Tim Turner and Bob McMillon officiating. Burial was in Smithville Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
