Virginia Skipworth Kroll of Cherokee Village died Dec. 3, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
She was active in community affairs. She was a member of Hardy United Methodist Church, Sharp County Historical Society, Cherokee Village Writers Group, Friends of the Library and an ardent conservationist.
Survivors include a son, Kermit Stephen Kroll of Memphis; a sister, Dorothy Suffling of Cherokee Village; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three nephews -- Paul Suffling of Sharp County, David Suffling of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mark Suffling of Durango, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Pauline Skipworth, and her husband of 53 years, Larry Kroll.
A memorial service will be held at Hardy United Methodist Church. Her body was cremated and her remains will be interred next to her husband's at Saddle Cemetery.
