Veda May Schmidt Boles, 42, of Evening Shade died Oct. 4, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Desoto Hospital in South Haven, Miss.

Born April 25, 1962, at Milwaukee, Wis., she was the daughter of Norman John Schmidt Sr. and Sandra Willa-vine Knappenberger Schmidt.

She was a factory worker, having worked for White Rodgers and Gen Corp, and was a home health nurse. She was a member of Hillcrest Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City where she taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather -- Sandra and Harold Stuntz of Cave City; her father, Norman Schmidt Sr. of Wisconsin; a daughter, Amy Michelle Schmidt of Evening Shade; two brothers -- Norman John Schmidt Jr. of Black Rock, and Jason Stuntz of Cave City; two sisters -- Pauline Curtis and Deanna Fay Stuntz, both of Evening Shade; and a nephew, Joshua Thomas Blevins of Evening Shade.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents -- Murry and Retta Knappenberger; and an aunt.

The funeral service was Oct. 7 at Hillcrest Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Don Vuncannon officiating. Burial followed in Campground Cemetery north of Evening Shade with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers were Mark Christopher, Shawn Goff, David Stuntz, Freddy Stuntz, Paul Stuntz and Nick Ring.

Honorary pallbearers were Teddy Blevins, Cecil Knappen-berger and Johnny Knappen-berger.
