Virginia L. McKenzie, 65, of Evening Shade died Oct. 6, 2005, at her home. She was born Oct. 20, 1939, at Sulphur Rock, Ark., the daughter of Ollie Ray and Ruth Jane Rice Earls. She was a homemaker and a member of Piney Fork Church of Christ at Evening Shade.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard McKenzie of the home; one son, Charles McKenzie of Evening Shade; one daughter, Dr. Diana McKenzie Moore of Benton; one brother, Herbert Ray Earls of Tupelo, Miss.; two sisters, Sharon Koch of Evening Shade and Sandra White of Coffeeville, Kan.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Wanda June Wallace.

The funeral service was held at the Piney Fork Church of Christ at Evening Shade, with Jack Richardson officiating. Burial followed in the Sharp Cemetery at Evening Shade with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
