Vera Opal "Dee Dee" Martin

Vera Opal (Dee Dee) Martin of Glencoe, daughter of the late Will Martin and Pearl Massey Martin, was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Glencoe. She died July 15, 2006, at Eaglecreast Nursing Home in Ash Flat at the age of 80.

She was a seamstress at Tri-County Shirt Company until she retired. Retirement did not agree with her and she went to work for Fulton County Hospital as a cook and continued there until she retired again. She was a member of the Agnos Church of Christ.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Sandy Clayton of Salem, Martin Estes of Glencoe, Tammy Estes of Fayetteville, Greg Kissinger of Glencoe, Janis Matthew of Little Rock and Melissa Martin of Glencoe; and many great-nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and her father and mother.

The funeral services were held July 17 at the Agnos Church of Christ with burial following in the Agnos Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
