Vila Oyler, age 92, of Ash Flat died Sept. 23, 2006, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem. She was born March 1, 1914, near Poughkeepsie to Samuel Wesley and Josie Ella (Powell) Anderson.
She was a cook at Ash Flat and Highland schools for many years and a member of the Corinth Methodist Church at Ash Flat.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Williford Oyler; three brothers, Sid Anderson, Orvin Anderson and Ernest Anderson; four sisters, Minnie Pearl Johnson, Artie Smith, Elsie Davis and Iba Runsick.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sept. 27 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Jack Richardson officiating. Burial followed in the Wiles Cemetery at Ash Flat, with arrangments by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were S.W. Anderson, J.B. Johnson, Bob Bradley, Gary Rogers, Rex Nicholson and Dewey Oyler.
Honorary pallbearers were Alfred Rogers, Hiram Johnson, Norman Johnson, Harry Johnson, Paul Davis, Wilson Smith and W.H. Smith.
