Virgil Wayne Counts, 58, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Aug. 13, 2007, at his home. Joe was born Dec. 5, 1948, in Alicia, Ark. the son of Grover and Freda Counts.
He lived the last 30 years of his life in Hardy where he owned and operated Counts Construction.He is survived by: his wife, Carol Johnson Counts of the home; two sons, "JJ" Joseph Johnson Counts of Bono, and Eric Counts of Cherokee Village; one daughter, Judy Jordan of Cherokee Village; three sisters, Hilda Worthington of Trumann, Brenda Nicholson of Swifton, and Mickey Alberson of Tuckerman; two brothers, Larry Counts of Cherokee Village, and Jimmy Counts of Hardy; four grandchildren, Coty James, Brady Ford, and Jordyn and Eason Counts; and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held Aug. 16 at Strangers Home Church in Alicia, Ark., with Don House and Larry Counts officiating. Burial followed in the Strangers Home Cemetery.Pallbearers were Erik Nicholson, Brian Counts, Dale Faughn, Aaron Hulett, Jason Hulett and Jerry Adams. Honorary pallbearers were Dwight Holder, Bruce Schwebke, Dennis Welte, Elwood Sloas, Larry Johnson and Euin Mullens.Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Ark.
