Margaret "Margo" Walden Scott Moore, 85, died Dec. 30, 2001, at Eastern Ozarks Regional Health System Cherokee Village.

Born Aug. 11, 1916, in Sharpsburg, Ky., she was the daughter of William Scott and Emma Quinn Scott. She was a 1936 graduate of nurse's training at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Ky., her hometown. She later earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at a Naperville (Ill.) College.

Prior to retiring to Cherokee Village in 1981, she, her husband, Bill, and their children resided in Louisville, Ky., Atlanta, and Villa Park, Ill.

She was a registered nurse and was active in church, civic and charitable organizations during her life.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, William F. "Bill" Moore Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Juliette Lee and Clifford Sowell; three grandsons, Amann Moore Sowell, Andrew Robert Sowell and Patrick William Sowell, all of Berea, Ky.; two granddaughters -- Jennifer Moore Curran and her husband, Michael, of West Hartsford, Conn., and Bethany Quinn Moore of Monticello, Ky.; three great-grandchildren, -- Michael Curran, Declan Curran and Quinn Curran of Hartford; a brother and sister, William L. Scott and Elizabeth of Lexington; two nieces, Lynn Scott Kearns and her husband, Thomas, and Jan Scott Keifer and her husband, George, of Lexington; and former daughter-in-law, Rebecca Richardson and her husband, Alan of Monticello.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert Quinn Moore and William F. Moore Jr.; a sister, Mary Lee Wright; and a nephew, William Emerson Scott.

The funeral was Jan. 4 at Cherokee Village United Methodist Church.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Hardy.

A later memorial service will be in Lexington, Ky., with burial of her ashes in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
