Wayne R. Wing, 86, of Cherokee Village died May 30, 2002, at the Ash Flat Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ash Flat.
Born Sept. 2, 1915, he was the son of Harry S. and Eliza Vradenburg Wing of Pardeeville, Wis.
He was employed in sales for the Oscar Mayer Co. and retired after more than 37 years of service. He moved to Cherokee Village in August 2001. He was a member of the Endeavor United Church of Christ. He belonged to the Packweaukee, Wis., Lions Club. He also was a Melvin Jones Award recipient of the Waterford Lions Club. He married Lois Eleanor Horn March 21, 1936, in Galena, Ill.
Survivors include two sons -- Russell (Rosmarie) Wing of Cherokee Village, and Larry (Ellen) Wing of Lindenhurst, Ill.; five grandchildren -- Steven (Merry Jo) Wing of Columbia, S.C., Kevin Wing of Pasadena, Calif., Gregory (Linda) Wing of Warren, Mo., David (Kendra) Wing of Bolingbrook, Ill., Debbie (fiancÚ, Chris Tiedman) Wing of Chicago; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Wing of Packwaukee, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his wife, parents, and two brothers -- Gordon Wing and Gerald Wing.
The funeral was June 6 in Steinhaus-Leikness and Stahl Funeral Home in Montello, Wis., with the Rev. Jeffrey L. Nicholas officiating.
Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery in Kingston, Wis.
Local arrangements were by Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
